…Pastor Enoch Adeboye visits president Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye on Monday visited President Muhammadu Buhari over the controversial Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020.
CAMA which was signed into law by the President on August 7, 2020, has been greeted with many criticisms due to certain provisions intruding into the affairs of the finances and trusteeships of private companies and religious bodies.
Pastor Adeboye had earlier made his position known through his Head of Media and Public Relations, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi by affirming that he supported the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) concerning the CAMA issues.
He urged the Federal Government to resolve the controversial issues of the law in section 839, which stipulates the Registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the supervising minister to regulate religious institutions, non-governmental institutions and charity organisations.
The meeting which started around 3:00 PM on Monday was also attended by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
