The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has said he will help the Igbo people produce presidency after his tenure. The former vice president said this at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, during the presidential rally of the PDP in Anambra State. Atiku also stated that Anambra State is dear to his heart as he has associates in the states outside of politics and promised to work with the South East to tackle the issue of erosion if elected president. Meanwhile, Gov. Soludo prayed for a level playing ground for all the candidates to showcase their plans for the country.

Nigerians at home and in the diaspora have signed a petition to the European Union, the Government of Finland, and the Nigerian Government to arrests and prosecute Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. The Petition was a reaction to the five-day sit-at-home order by Mr Ekpa in which 6 persons were killed in Enugu and Imo states last week. Recall that Simon had threatened that there will not be any election in South East region in 2023 in a viral video which was released on Youtube yesterday. The petition asked the authorities to arrest and prosecute Ekpa for terrorism.

The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Adbulrasheed Bawa, has stated that the agency has recovered N30 billion from the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation who is being prosecuted over N109 billion fraud. The EFCC Chairman said this at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday. Mr Bawa also pointed out that the EFCC is taking it easy on corrupt government officials, adding that the agency’s full wrath will soon descend on the former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.
