YouTube acted in haste, says T.B Joshua
The YouTube channel of Emmanuel TV, one of Africa’s most popular religious channel has been suspended over alleged hate speech.
Emmanuel TV belongs to Synagogue Church of All Nations, a prominent Pentecostal church founded by a well regarded Prophet T.B Joshua.
Emmanuel TV, a prominent Christian television channel owned by Pastor TB Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, has been suspended on YouTube.
T.B Joshua announced this on his Twitter handle on Friday, sharing the video that allegedly contained the hate speech.
He said the channel was shut down because of a video that allegedly contained hate speech.
“Our mission is to share the love of God with everyone – irrespective of race or religion – and we strongly oppose all forms of hate speech! We have had a long and fruitful relationship with YouTube and believe this decision was made in haste,” he tweeted.
In the video clip, T.B Joshua prophesied that a man was possessed by a strange spirit and that he should come out.
“God hates sin, not sinners. When the Bible says, ‘Do not judge so that you will not be judged’, it means we should hate sin, not the sinner because sinners can change. If you have killed a sinner by judging him, there will be no opportunity for change.
“Sinners can be delivered. We should hate the act, not the people because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the ‘spirit beings’ that cause all these acts,” the pastor was heard saying in the video.
