…Dangerous weapons were seized from the suspected criminals
Eight suspected members of the criminal gang threatening the peace of Southern Kaduna through banditry and killings have been arrested by security operatives on Monday.
The Sector Commander of Operation Safe Haven in Kafanchan, Colonel David Nwakonobi told journalists that the criminals were apprehended at different locations with deadly arms in their custody during the operation executed by the task force.
Several items retrieved from them were locally fabricated pump action guns, locally made pistols, 9 mm ammunition, machetes, and motorcycles which were suspected to be their weapons of carrying out their criminal, inhumane assignments.
Colonel Nwakonobi also revealed that one of the paramilitary men engaged in the previous assault in one of the localities was murdered in gun combat and his corpse was discovered in Kibori village during a rescue operation by the troops, as was said that Southern Kaduna has been raided by these heartless bandits.
Recall that Southern Kaduna has recently been besieged with all acts of banditry, terrorism and killings that subjected the communities and villages under it to dreary location, as many deaths injuries, destruction and displacements have been recorded.
