…the Special Forces drafted from the Nigerian Army are charged to return normalcy in Southern Kaduna
The Special Forces drafted from the Nigerian Army to terminate killings and all other callous activities in Southern Kaduna have arrived at Kafanchan on Friday.
The troops approved by the Defence Headquarters are saddled with the task of restoring normalcy in the area as they await their deployment to different locations
Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State welcomed them at Sector 7, the headquarters of Operation Safe Haven.
While addressing the special security team, the Commissioner implored them to leave no stone unturned in dealing with the bandits and safeguarding security and restoring in Southern Kaduna.
The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to the Defence headquarters for tactfully approving the placement of the troops to Southern Kaduna, and however, pledges the assistance and cooperation of the state government in making the operation a huge success.
Aruwan also urged the neigbouring communities to provide adequate support in form of sharing of intelligence with the troops during their operation in the disturbed location
Recalled that Kaduna has been under deadly attacks from bandits terrorising the state.
On July 19, gunmen attacked Kukum Daji Village of Kaura Local Government Area of the state, killing 21 people while 28 others sustained various injuries.
According to the President of the Community, Mr. Yashen Titus, the gunmen suspected to be herdsmen, besieged the location of a wedding party in the community at about 10 pm.
In a similar incident, on July 7, no fewer than 38 persons including women and children lost their lives in separate attacks on two villages in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Council Chairman, Emmanuel Adamu, who confirmed the attack, said the gunmen unleashed assault Ankpon Village in Nandu and Kabamu Village in Fadan Karshi, all of Numana area.
