Lekki toll plaza shooting on Tuesday evening
It is pandemonium at Lekki toll plaza in Lagos, Nigeria as security operatives opened fire at protesters defying the 24-hour curfew imposed by the Lagos State government.
According to eyewitnesses of the Lekki toll plaza shooting, security operatives fired gunshots at protesters, resulting to a melee as thousands attempted to flee the scene.
There have reports of casualties but Nigeria Today could not confirm any figures at the time of filing this reports

Recall that earlier in the afternoon, the authorities in Lagos imposed a 24-hour curfew.
According to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who announced this on Tuesday, “the protest has degenerated and turned into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society”.

“Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash mayhem on our state. As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS, we will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state.
“I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4 pm today, 20th October 2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders, must be found on the streets.”
