…Governor Sanwo-Olu deploys hundreds of LASTMA officers to regulate traffic
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appealed to residents of the nation’s busiest city and commercial hub, Lagos to exercise patience and not panic over the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge on Friday.
Sanwo-Olu revealed that over 650 officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been deployed to manage traffic that emanates from the effects of shutting the bridge.
The governor who issued this statement on his verified Twitter handle @jidesanwoolu on Thursday reminded Lagosians that the maintenance of the bridge is for the advancement of the people, state and country at large.
Governor also used the medium to inform the people of Lagos about alternative routes to be utilised for convenient movement of people, goods and services during the repairs of the infrastructure.
“We are deploying over 650 LASTMA officers on the roads to control traffic. We also urge commuters to explore the option of our waterways. The jetty built in Ilaje area of Bariga has been activated and we are increasing the capacity of our ferry services,” he tweeted.
