Senator Ali Ndume calls for dismissal of service chiefs
The Senate has asked the nation’s service chiefs to step aside.
This was said at a plenary on Tuesday in reaction to a motion moved by Senator Ali Ndume.
This motion was moved as a result of consequent killings in Katsina and environs; these killings keep increasing by the day.
It was also said that prior to the order for the service chiefs to step aside, Senator Ali Ndume had only raised the issue without calling for dismissal or anything of sort.
It was only after further deliberations that it was concluded upon that the service chiefs be asked to step aside.
The senators have also gathered a joint defence which consisted of army, navy, airforce, police and interior committee to collaborate with the military to keep up with the progress of the armed forces.
It is important to note that the president had earlier told the service chiefs that excuses from them will no longer be welcomed, but the decision to remove them was not yet agreed upon by then.
