Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Steve Gukas and others condemn shutdown of Nigerian cinemas
Nigerian actors and actresses have taken to social media to protest the continued shutdown of Nigerian cinemas.
Entertainers like Toyin Aimaku Abraham, Falz the Bahd Guy, Osas Ighodaro, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and many others also joined in the protest.
They all took to their various social media pages to call out the government using the hashtag Save Cinemas, demanding the reopening of the cinemas.
The entertainers are of the opinion that the continued shutdown of Nigerian cinemas is wrecking havoc already on the entertainment industry as movies and other contents are not being showcased.

Also joining the conversation, Steve Gukas, a film director wrote: “The ability of the film industry to grow and sustain itself is directly linked to how much money films earn in various windows. The cinema is a very important revenue source. Keeping them shut has dire consequences for the industry. Given how many of our youth make a living from this industry, it is time to give this a second look.”
The entertainers made sure to tag affected government authorities in all their posts in order to gain their attention.
