The woman is the wife to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State and the political leader of one of the leading political parties in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress.

She is presently a senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian National Assembly. She is also a member of APC.
