Nigeria says that the Ghananian government is not responsible for irrational act carried out on Nigerians and their properties
Reports has stated that Nigeria could have relieved Ghana of the issue of violence against Nigerians and their properties.
This is on the basis that the Ghananian government is not aware of the attacks that were carried out on tNigerian which included forcing them out of their shops and destroying the Nigerian embassy while also threatening the embassy staffs with violence.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama was the one who made this information known to the public.
He also said that Nigeria is waiting to see how Ghana would address the issue and make amends.
He said that the actions were carried out by a non-state actor.
He has also promised to keep the country updated on how events turned out.
The action is against the provisions of the 1963 Vienna convention and the Nigerian Government has asked Ghana to provide explanation for the attacks and reasons for destroying the Nigeria Commissioner Residence.
It was said however that the building allegedly belonged to a Nigerian businesswoman and was not a residential building as claimed.
The two leading parties in Nigeria have blamed the president and his kind of governance accusing him of sheer incompetency in attending to diplomatic relations.
