…5 more people die of COVID-19
In Nigeria, 290 more people have been confirmed with coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the latest statistics revealed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
It was disclosed on the official Twitter handle of the nation’s health agency on Monday as more 5 people died.
The latest update made the overall confirmed cases to be 46,867.
As at Monday, August10, 2020, an aggregate of 46,867 cases have been confirmed, with 33,346 discharged cases and 950 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The figures in the update stand as:
Total cases confirmed: 46,867
Total active cases: 12,571
Total cases discharged: 33,346
Total deaths recorded: 950
Total sample tested: 319,851
The reported 290 new cases are compiled from 15 states and Federal Capital Territory comprising with Lagos and Plateau having the highest number.
The statistics are given as: Lagos (82), Plateau (82), Oyo (19), FCT (18), Edo (16), Kaduna (15), Enugu (9), Ogun (9), Kano (8), Kwara (8), Cross River (5), Ondo (5), Rivers (5), Ekiti (4), Imo (3) and Borno (2).
