Nigeria records highest COVID-19 cases in 2021
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,149 cases of COVID-19 in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The health agency disclosed this on its official website on Thursday.

According to NCDC, since the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria in 2020, Nigeria had recorded 184,593 while 167,738 have been discharged.

It said the country also recorded seven deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities so far to 2,236.
The 1149 new cases were reported in 16 states- Lagos (680), Rivers (157), Akwa Ibom (94), Oyo (56), Edo (36), FCT (34), Ogun (31), Ekiti (20), Delta (16), Abia (5), Nasarawa (5), Osun (5), Cross River (4), Plateau (3), Sokoto (2) and Kano (1).
