Rape to be battled headlong by the Federal Government
As parts of efforts to combat the menace of sexual violence in Nigeria, the Federal Government has concluded plans to set up special courts across the court to ensure faster dispensation of justice in all sex-related cases.
The Attorney-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Minister of Justice Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN) disclosed this on Thursday.
Malami also said that the Federal Minitry of Justice had started to review laws that would help to curb the menace of rising sex offences.
As part of the plans also, a Sexual Offenders Register is also going to be set up at the various police stands across the nation. This is meant to allow for easy collation and documentation of rape cases and rape offenders.
