…6 new COVID-19 deaths recorded
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 653 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 6 deaths in Nigeria.
This was disclosed in the official Twitter handle of the Centre as the total number of cases rises to 36,107.
As at Saturday, July 18, 2020; an aggregate of 36,107 cases have been confirmed, with 14,938 discharged cases and 778 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The figures in the update stand as:
- Total cases confirmed: 36,107
- Total active cases: 20,391
- Total cases discharged: 14,938
- Total deaths recorded: 778
The reported 653 new cases are compiled from 28 states comprising Lagos (115), Kwara (85), Enugu (80), FCT (78), Rivers (36), Ondo (35), Oyo (30), Katsina (28), Kaduna (19), Abia (19), Nasarawa (18), Plateau (17), Imo (16).
Others with single digits include Ogun (9), Ebonyi (9), Benue (9), Kano (9), Delta (8), Bauchi (7), Ekiti (6), Gombe (4), Bayelsa (4), Adamawa (4), Osun (4), Cross River (1), Yobe (1), Borno (1), Zamfara (1).
