COVID-19: Nigeria records 1 death
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 129 new cases of the COVID-19 in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) raising the number of confirmed infections in the country to 162,891.
According to the health agency on its official Twitter account, the country recorded 1 death in the last 24 hours bringing the official death rate to 2,057.
NCDC disclosed that 151,648 people have recovered from the deadly virus since the outbreak of the pandemic.
It noted that out of the 129 cases Lagos state recorded the highest with 46 followed by Ondo state with 19, Nasarawa state 14, Kaduna state 11, Borno state 9, Bauchi state 8, Akwa Ibom 5, FCT 5, Jigawa-4, Plateau-3, Bayelsa and Osun state recorded 2 cases each while Rivers state recorded 1 case.
“Our discharges today include 62 community recoveries in Akwa Ibom and 16 in Ogun State managed in line with guidelines.” The NCDC noted.
