More women have also used the opportunity to open up on the assault they have gone through at a point in time.
Yesterday, talent manager, Mayowa Balogun released a statement in which he confessed of having shared an unconsented sex tape of his girlfriend with some of his friends. His girlfriend known as Nelo also took to her own Instagram handle to share her perspective on the issue.
She explained that her boyfriend had secretly recorded a video of them during consensual sex and had sent it to 3 of his male friends. She had come across the chat on his phone and confronted him regarding it. He however managed to manipulate her telling her that it was part of the normal routine of him and his friends to share nude pictures of girls.
She accepted his explanation and made herself believe that it wasn’t bad after all and refrained from making the issue public in order not to ruin his career.
The girl also said that Mayowa’s public display of his confession is what has moved her into also making her story public.
Mayowa similarly said that the feeling of guilt which kept picking at his mind had made him confess publicly but he did not actually find harm in the sex tape which he shared.
Nigerians however do not believe Mayowa’s story as they wonder why a person would decide to make a confession on Twitter without first informing the partner involved.
