…Sheffield stun Tottenham 3-1 in a high profile game
Manchester City thrashed the English Premier League (EPL) Champions, Liverpool 4-0 on Thursday night at the Ethiad Stadium.
Kevin De Bruyne (25′), Raheem Sterling (35′), Phil Foden (45′) were on score sheet and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal (66′) gave the hosts all 3 points on the night.
City respected the title winners with a guard of honour before the kick off. However, the respect did not extend to the field of play as the second placed City gave The Reds no breathing space.

It was De Bruyne that stepped up to take and score a penalty at 25th minute after Joe Gomez hauled down Sterling in the box. Sterling also finished off a pass from Foden at 35th minute, before Foden found the back of the net at 45th minute.
It was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal at 66th minute own goal that wrapped up the goals for the night.
In another centre, Sheffield United stunned Tottenham with a 3-1 victory. Sheffield’s win at home pushed them to 7th spot on the log, denting the Spurs’ hopes of qualifying for the Champions League as they slipped into 9th position.
