…Governor Sanwo-Olu announces the reopening of churches and mosques on Saturday at Lagos House in Marina
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced on Saturday that religious places will be reopened on Friday, August 7 in the next phase of easing lockdown in Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu revealed this during a COVID-19 update at the Lagos House in Marina, an axis on the Island.
The conditions attached, however, is the opening of churches and mosques should not exceed 50 congregants in attendance, with services only holding on Sundays and Fridays.
According to the governor in the conditions spelt out, persons above 65 years of age are not allowed to worship with the congregation.
Religious leaders are to ensure the provision of hand sanitisers, hand-held thermometer checks, stressing that the government will enforce social distancing in Lagos.
