…Kamala Harris is set to become the first American female vice-president if Democrats win the Presidential election in November
The United States Democrat candidate, Joe Biden has announced a US woman senator from California, Kamala Harris, as his running mate in the forthcoming election slated for November 3.
Biden announced this on his Twitter handle on Tuesday, as his campaign team prepares to flag off their campaign in Wilmington, Delaware on Wednesday.
“I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate,” Biden tweeted on Tuesday.
While reacting to Biden’s decision, Harris on her Twitter affirmed that she was honoured by the nomination and promised to give all it takes to help Biden win the race to the White House.

“@JoeBiden can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he’ll build an America that lives up to our ideals,” Harris said on Twitter.
Her nomination becomes an interesting moment for her and Americans, as the decision may thrust her to become the first female vice president in the history of America if Joe Biden ousts incumbent President Donald Trump in November.
Harris, a 55-year-old black Californian is already in the political limelight and would be in the fore to run for the 2024 presidential election as the 77-year-old Joe Biden would be 81 at that time and may not deem it fit to contest for the second term in office if he wins.

Recall that the prominent female politician that contested in the American presidential election was Hillary Clinton, a New York senator who lost to Barack Obama in 2008 Democrat primary election and was defeated by Donald Trump in 2016 presidential race.
Kamala Harris was the first black attorney general of California, the first woman to hold the post, and the first woman of South Asian descent to be elected to the US Senate. And America would be pleased to look forward to see her become the first female vice president of the United States.
About Kamala Harris, her parents were immigrants to the United States, while her father was a Jamaican, her mother was an Indian.
