…Laments that Oshiomhole is an interested party in Edo politics
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has bemoaned that he will not get justice from a committee erected by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to inspect aspirants contesting to get the party’s ticket ahead of the governorship election in the state.
The screening exercise lasted for about two hours at the party secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.
It was gathered that the governor underwent the procedures of the screening for hours after his aide, Crusoe Osagie, reported that the committee had deferred him.

“The governor arrived early but the screening committee was not ready,” Osagie complained earlier in a statement on Wednesday.
“He was given the options to either wait for one hour or if he had an appointment to keep, he could go and call them to know if they were ready.
“The governor, who had a Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF) meeting, went for the meeting and called when he was done, but the members of the screening committee did not pick their phones.”

While addressing the journalists after he had met with the panel and had his screening exercise, Obaseki said he is not sure of getting justice because Adams Oshiomhole, APC national chairman, has refused to rescue himself from the process.
“Like I said, as a party man I had to go through the screening process but I do not believe that I will get justice because Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is an interested party in Edo process,” the governor disclosed.
“One of the questions asked was why did I issue a gazette that will prevent the party from performing direct elections in Edo. That did I not see it as an anti-party activity?”
It is believed that Oshiomhole have rallied support for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the party governorship aspirant posing a big threat to the re-election bid of Governor Obaseki.
The All Progressives Party (APC) primary election is slated for June 22.
