Bandits attack Bethel Secondary School in Kaduna, kidnap scores
Suspected bandits have allegedly stormed Bethel Secondary School in Maramara Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State in the early hours of Monday and kidnapped scores of students.
According to Daily Post, Mr. Daniel Muhuta, a security guard in the school said, “I escaped narrowly. They came around 1.00 am and started shooting. I was at the back of the school dormitory when I heard shooting and decided to pin down.”

As of the time of filing this report, security personnel has cordoned off the area, even as parents and relatives of the kidnapped students gathered at the main entrance in a sorrowful mood.

Confirming the abduction, Kaduna state police command, Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Muhammed Jalige said: “Yes, I can confirm to you that there was an incident at the school but the joint security team comprising the Police, Army and others have rescued 17 students.
“We cannot say this is the number of students kidnapped for now. As soon as that information is available, we will issue a statement.”
