Ghana is to carry out further investigation on the demolition of the Nigerian High Commission
The President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, has called the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to apologise for the damages done to the Nigerian High Commission.
The telephone conversation saw the president sincerely apologise for the damages done.
Thisw information was made known to the public on a statement made by the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
Let us recall that prior to this call from president Akufo-Addo to president Buhari, there had been news that on the land meant for the Nigerian High Commission was a building owned by a particular Nigerian businessman.
He was said to have arrived at the building some months before the demolition with some pieces of evidence and had statred to knock the fence down.
And to this, the president of Ghana has assured Nigerians that thorough investigation on the matter would be carried out.
The incident saw the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama condemning it.
