…The two Lebanese were apprehended at the Port Harcourt International Airport
Two Lebanese, Dina Jihad Khali and Chamseddine Waell Mohammed have been arrested on Wednesday by officers of the Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Customs.
Khali and Mohammed were apprehended at the Port Harcourt International Airport in their attempt to smuggle a total sum of $890,000 out of Nigeria.
The Nigeria Customs have handed them over to the zonal headquarters nation’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Port Harcourt to begin investigation.

According to the Customs Area Comptroller, Mohammed Olayinka, Khali with Passport Number LR152975 (Republic of Lebanon) had in his possession $670,000, while Mohammed with Passport Number LR0356598 (Republic of Lebanon) was arrested with $220,000.
Olayinka also stated that they were about boarding a flight but the two suspects refused to declare to Customs.
However, the money has been lodged at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Rivers State for safekeeping.
Principal Detective Superintendent Macaulay Olayinka, while receiving the suspects extolled the efforts of the Customs for their observance and their collaboration with the EFCC.
The trial of the suspects will commence immediately an investigation is finalized on them.
