Total COVID-19 deaths now 1,787
Nigeria has recorded another 869 cases of COVID-19 infections in 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 149,369.
According to the report by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the number of recorded cases signifies a decrease from the 1,572 cases recorded on Tuesday. The number of casualties also increased to 1787 from 1779.
The health agency stated that Lagos had the highest number of cases with 229 infections followed by Rivers state with 79 cases, Taraba with 73 cases, Oyo with 66 cases, and Ogun with 60 cases.
FCT recorded 58 cases, Plateau 56; Kwara-38; Ondo-38; Osun-24; Kano-22; Nasarawa-21.
Abia, Edo, and Akwa Ibom state recorded 19 cases each. Others include Cross River had 10, Delta-9, Benue-8, Ekiti-6, Borno-6, Katsina-4, Bauchi-3, Bayelsa-1 and Zamfara state with 1
NCDC report also revealed that out of the 149,369 confirmed cases in the country 125,722 have been discharged while 1787 have died from the infection.
