COVID-19: Fresh cases recorded in 5 states, FCT
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 35 fresh cases of COVID-19 infection and one death in the last 24 hours.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter page on Sunday.
The report by the health agency showed that the new cases were recorded in five states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
It also revealed that the death recorded came after 12 consecutive days of no fatality in the country. This brings the number of fatalities so far to 2,062.
The agency also disclosed that Lagos state had the highest recorded cases for the day with 18 new cases followed by River state with 7, Oyo state with 6, FCT with 2 while Ekiti and Kaduna state recorded one case each.
It added that “Today report includes: Data from Oyo State recorded on the 24th and 25th of April, 2021. 215 community recoveries in Oyo State managed in line with guidelines.”
Meanwhile, it disclosed that 164,719 cases have been confirmed so far while 154,926 people have been discharged and 2,062 deaths have been recorded in the 36 states and the FCT.
