…SGF urges the citizens to pray against COVID-19
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, alongside other government personalities as well as Christian leaders on Sunday graced the interdenominational church prayer service organised against coronavirus.
The service was structured as the conclusion programme of a three-day fasting and prayer organised by the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 urged Christians and Muslims to turn to prayers as the number of COVID-19 cases perpetually increase across the country.
An Islamic prayer took place on Friday in Abuja where special prayers were offered to combat the novel virus.
This happened as the country recorded more 603 cases accumulating to a total confirmed infections above the 28,000 mark.
In the announcement made by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 28,167 people have been confirmed to have contracted the virus out of which 634 people are dead.
A breakdown of the figure of new cases reveals that Lagos has the highest of 135 number of people with infections among the 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
