Buhari nominates seven as ministers to replace Amaechi, others

President Muhammadu Buhari has decided not to recall any of the ministers that resigned from his cabinet ahead of the recently held primary elections.

On Tuesday, June 21, the president nominated seven persons to fill the vacant ministerial positions.

In a letter to the Senate read during plenary by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Buhari said the nominees would replace the former ministers that resigned from his cabinet.

The nominees are: Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh – Abia State; Umana Okon Umana – Akwa Ibom State; Egwumakama Joseph Nkama – Ebonyi State; and Goodluck Nnana Opiah – Imo State.

Others are Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub – Kano State; Ademola Adewole Adegoroye – Ondo State, and Odum Odih – Rivers State.
