Labour Party defeats Tinubu in Lagos with 582,664 votes
The Presidential election held on February 25, 2023, has produced its first major upset as Peter Obi’s Labour Party defeats Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos State.
According to the results declared, Obi polled 582,664 while Tinubu scored 541,850.

Although the APC candidate won more local government areas, Obi defeated Tinubu with the majority of the votes cast in the state. All the results of the 20 local governments have been declared. Tinubu won in 11 while Obi won in nine local governments.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Olusegun Agbaje opened the floor at the state collation centre in the Yaba area of the state on Sunday and the collation ran until midnight on Monday and resumed by 9 am.
