Yusuf Datti Ahmed unveiled on Friday in Abuja
Labour party on Friday unveiled Nigerian economist, politician and entrepreneur, Dr. Yusuf Datti Ahmed as the Vice Presidential candidate. He will join Mr. Peter Obi as running mate to fly the flag of the Labour Party in the 2023 Presidential election.
Baba-Ahmed’s unveiling comes less than 24 hours after the Director-General, Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe, announced his withdrawal as the vice-presidential candidate of the party.
Okupe who announced his withdrawal via his verified Twitter handle @doyinokupe noted that his party would announce the new running mate to the presidential candidate.
The Labour party had named Okupe as the interim vice presidential candidate of the LP in order to beat the deadline by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Born in 1975, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, graduated from the University of Maiduguri and worked in business and banking for several years before entering politics. He served as Senator for Kaduna North from 2011 to 2012 and a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007.
He is reputed as an anti-graft champion, as he became known for speaking out against corruption and the Third Term Agenda during his days at the National Assembly.
