The embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
Agboola made the revelation through his Media Adviser, Allen Sowore on Monday after tendering his resignation letter on the 9th August, 2020 to the PDP chairman, Festus Oboro at Apoi Ward II of Ese Odo Local Government Area.
The deputy governor who thanked the PDP for the reception shown to him when he rejoined the party, however disclosed that he was necessary for him to join ZLP as the Ondo people want him deliver the dividends of democracy, hence his decision to contest the governorship election under ZLP.

Nigeria Today has reported on August 3, 2020, that Ajayi would contest the Ondo gubernatorial election under the ZLP after putting finishing touches to the processes including meeting the former governor, Segun Mimiko.
