Yinka Odumakin dies at COVID-19 isolation centre
Afenifere’s spokesman, Yinka Odumakin reportedly dies at the Lagos State University Teaching hospital COVID-19 isolation centre this morning.
The publicity secretary died after a brief illness.
His wife, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin who is the president Women Arise confirmed the death of her husband.
As at press time, the specific cause of his death is still unknown but he has been battling with diabetes for a long time.

Also, about a month ago, Mr. Odumakin fell critically ill during a visit to the Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola. The government promptly responded by offering him emergency medical care.
He immediately returned to Lagos after he was stabilised by the medical officials.
Reacting to the news, Secretary-General, Afenifere, Basorun Sehinde Arogbofa, said “It’s a terrible blow. A terrible blow to me as a person because we’ve been so intimate.

“He’s been my right-hand man in Afenifere management. It’s terrible. Yinka should not have gone at this time.
“It’s a terrible blow to Afenifere and Nigeria. We’ve lost a brilliant chap with intelligent and brilliant ideas.
“This is sad, very sad. What a pity. I pity his wife Joe.’’ He said.
