Melaye finally out as Smart Adeyemi is sworn in as Kogi West Senator

Recall that trouble started for Melaye after a court nullified his initial election and ordered a fresh exercise, which eventually led to his defeat.

Senator Smart Adeyemi

It is the end of the road for Senator Dino Melaye at the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. At least for the next four years.

His rival, Smart Adeyemi, who defeated him in the rerun election last week has been sworn in as the senator representing Kogi West district in the Senate.

Adeyemi was sworn in during Wednesday's plenary session of the Senate.
